What I enjoy most about being a Designer with California Closets is my clients. I have the privilege of being welcomed into their homes and collaborating with them to bring their vision to life. Each project represents ideas and wishes they’ve been thinking about for some time.
During our consultation, we explore those ideas together, thoughtfully design the space, and give them the opportunity to visualize their project in 3D, turning something imagined into something real and achievable.
At every consultation, I walk through the process and always end by saying, “We’re going to have fun.” When we wrap up, I often ask, “Did you have fun?” And time and time again, I hear them say - “Surprisingly, yes!”
I strive to make the experience interactive and engaging, truly listening to each client’s needs and wants. In the end, everyone feels heard, takes part in the design process, and we finish with a beautiful space that reflects them.
My job is simple…I get to bring Joy!

Thank you Jill and Jacob. I absolutely love my new closet and my granddaughter loves her new custom built desk. Your customer service is excellent. Jill is an amazing designer and Jacob did a great job on the install. I would highly recommend California Closets and look forward to my next project.- We had an excellent experience with California Closets and designer Jill Hermanson for our built-in home office. Jill was attentive, responsive, thoughtful, and professional. With respect to our vision, she did an amazing job tempering the unfeasible ideas and nurturing the better ones. Numerous 3D CAD renderings were incredibly helpful as we iterated toward a true solution for our space. Jill took great care in confirming our plan with the builders and installers so there were no surprises. One panel was delivered in a different colour than we expected, and the desk had a scratch. The designer and installers noticed both deficiencies and required no insistence from me to rectify them promptly. Jill took time to do a follow-up inspection to ensure everything was perfect. We look forward to hiring Jill and California Closets again.
- Chaos to Closet Goals--We worked with California Closets on two projects, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the results. The first transformation? A storage room (complete with a pull-up bar!) turned into the walk-in closet of my dreams. There’s now a place for everything, shoes, purses, hoodies, jeans and workwear—all beautifully organized and easy to access. The second project took a small, standard bedroom closet and completely reimagined it, essentially doubling the usable space with a smart combination of shelving and hanging areas. Working with Jill was effortless. She really listened to our ideas, added her expertise and brought everything to life with clear visual plans. There were a few tweaks along the way (as expected), but the entire process, from design to install, was seamless. An amazing experience overall, and we are absolutely loving our efficient, functional and stunning new closet spaces. (Closet of my dreams)
